Apartment (Bogota). November 2021

Updated: May 21, 2023

My temporary HQ in Bogota was a small studio with a spacious living room, a bathroom and a bedroom with a glass window looking out to the mountains. The clouds touched the mountain-tops and the atmosphere was heavy and pleasurable.

I had a mall nearby and street food was plentiful, I paid $300 dollars for the entire month of November and was able to secure plenty of cooking ingredients at the supermarket down the street.

As with most things that aren't yours, I had to share broadband with the entire floor and that meant slow download speeds. Perfect for checking e-mail and posting to social networks but terrible for heavy data transfers.

I was only issued two cooking pots and only one burner worked on the stove so I had fun being creative with my meals. I also broke the toilet seat cover so I had to replace it on my last day there.

There was no need for AC and I opened the windows every night before bed. I managed to watch 2 movies using my projector but for the most part I explored the city and tried new foods and worked on finding a permanent home. Most places have a door man or woman who might also assist you with other needs including directions and tips so it is a good idea to tip them well. I spent an entire month there so I left them some money during check out.
